OpenMaps Pro App Reviews

Maps Pro

Complicated very complicated.

So bad ! Caution ! Zero star !

Very bad apps. Not comparison with the ease and maps quality of Maps+. I paid 2.29$ plus 3,49$ for absolutely nothing.

???

Its not google map.

Great

Wish: compass support of 3GS.

All is good except offline routing support

The app is amazingly intuitive and fast. The only drawback, it doesnt support offline routing. Hardly waiting for that feature.

Why OSM Pro has LESS funcionaliy than non-Pro?

2 issues: - Apparently you cant have _both_ OpenStreetMap and OpenStreetMap Pro and use osms login - becouse if you delete one - osm integration for other could broke - if OSM data was recently updated (via Potlach on their site) - OpenStreetMap Pro didnt show update(but OpenStreet (non-Pro)) shows them correctly. (Try adding for example house number and see).

Seems good

Very usefull. Moved from offline map to this application!better view ,possible to offline work!

Please release fix for iOS5

OpenMaps are the n1 to OSM

Locate tool NOT fixed!

Still useless...

Disappointed

The free turn-to-turn assistance was disabled with the last update. So bad..

One big downside

Updated and STILL no search in offline mode. Why??? Citymaps2go uses the same maps and lets me so that. So many bells and whistles and the most basic feature is still missing.

Crash

It might be something Im doing wrong but it crashes when a search is entered

Fast loading and simple

First and foremost, if you think you are getting a $2 version of TomTom, you are sadly mistaken. This is a fast basic map viewer that caches maps for when you are out of cell range. It also has the advantage of being able to access maps that are, in some cases, much more current than Google. The openstreetmap project encourages people to add their gps tracks to flesh out the maps in areas where new roads are springing up faster than weeds. Its a project that I hope will take off, Ive uploaded two tracks myself from the last two days.

Waste of money

Search feature never returns anything accurate. I would not keep it even if it was free. 1.99 wasted.

Great for seeing OpenCycleMaps and Caching offline maps

Developer responds to feedback by improving the app and updating often, showing good support for customers. Having access to the OpenCycleMaps is useful for planning urban cycling routes while out in the field and away from my PC. Cycle maps show streets and contour lines, making it possible to plan the least hilly route to my next landmark. Cant do that with the Googlemaps yet on the iPhone. Car routing via pins is good now. Yes, search is completely worthless as is, but I hope a new search provider and results presentation layer is next. Or, simply remove the search feature until a search provider can be found and integrated. Id say that for now the search icon space would better be served by an options screen with a link to much needed tutorial screens. I find this app mainly useful as a way to bring openmaps with me because it simply has things Google does not. For search and routing, the stock Google app is fine.

Potential

I was okay spending money for this because it supports openstreetmap data. The map-cache ability is a killer feature; load times of saved map tiles is astounding. Other features need some work still, but this is worth a look if youre like me and you do more quick-checks than destination-searches.

Quick and Slick!

I grew up spending the weekends in the passenger seat of my dads truck, navigating us to and from remote camping locations with a glovebox full of maps. Most of the time I launch Google Maps to see where I am or find an alternate route, I have to wait, and wait, and wait some more, for it to lock in, load all the tiles, maybe clear out an old search or directions, its a pain. But with OpenMaps, I hit the app, and boom, there it is, showing me where I am, and whats around me. And if I need to zoom in or out and flick around to find an alternate route, it loads faster than Google Maps, too. Sure, it doesnt have all the bells and whistles that Google Maps does (yes, it does do routes, but its a little awkward), but I dont need all of that all the time. For $1, this is a great, handy app. And before you take that one negative review too seriously, just remember... haters gotta hate.

Needs to Update Map, very outdated at least 9 years

I installed this app because of the high reviews and the fast map loading but as soon as i tested it out with my own address i immediately noticed that the map was very outdated from at least 9 years (map of the year 2000). I like the map features and the fast loading time but i will not be able to use it much unless it gets an overhaul update soon. Please update the map to the year 2009 at least and i will be happy and give it a higher rating.

Cool interface, but bad search

The UI is fast & cool features. But I find the search is very bad. I tried searching for costco and found result on other coast!!! Tried few more searches but nothing worked. Its not practicle to use if I can not find nearby places!!! Its great effort & hope the app improves over time.

Server does not work, I want my 1.99 back

I want my money back
